Sadly we didn't hear the organ, there was a recoding of ecclesiastical music playing - at least we assumed it was a recording, - either that or there was a choir hidden somewhere in the rafters!
I love the idea of the paper sword acquiring its own mythology!

...it's been a pleasure!madhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15124394202672398181noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29600191.post-1162014280249007082006-10-28T06:44:00.000+01:002006-10-28T06:44:00.000+01:00Well, I thought "Night" was just prefect! I love her dress, it it star spangled?

The outside view of the cathedral is awesome.

Did you get to hear the organ?

Your trip sounds just amazing and I thank you so much for sharing it with us.

JudeAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29600191.post-1161996034587390772006-10-28T01:40:00.000+01:002006-10-28T01:40:00.000+01:00Mad - you and Num could get together and do a garg...Mad - you and Num could get together and do a gargoyle book! I'll ask him if he can confirm the stone ID (he'll probably not give me a straight answer, mind!)

I feel like I made the visit with you. All that's missing is an mp3 of the musicians you heard.

I love the pictures - The third picture from the top looks like the back end of a great wooden warship. That angel column looks mind-bogglingly complex, and beautiful, but the clock is amazing - so theatrical for a church - and I agree completely about "Night" - floozy!

The sword is wonderful - maybe the paper sword will become a peace symbol of some kind in the city, with it's own mythology?!

Thank you for sharing all this.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
